Knotted Cross / Geknoopt kruis

   
(ENG) a simple little knotted cross, with a great story: my dear American Facebook friend Susan and her English hubby David were on a holliday in Amsterdam, only a 2 hours train away from me, so we arranged a meeting. It became a wonderfull day, and the train trip home was very special too: SEE MORE OF THE GREAT STORY  
(NL) een simpel klein geknoopt kruisje, met een groot verhaal: mijn goede Amerikaanse Facebook vriendin Susan en haar Engelse man David waren op vakantie in Amsterdam, maar 2 uren trein verwijderd van mij, dus hadden we afgesproken. Het werd een zalige dag, en de treinreis terug was ook heel speciaal: LEES DE REST VAN HET GROOT VERHAAL

scoubidou rocket / scoubidou raket

(ENG) I liked the rocket ship of BoondoggleMan, but I wanted it 3D, so I combined it with his fluted columns stitch ( a kind of "+" ); and I cutted down the tassels, so it coul stand. I added a loop, so it can be used as a key chain. 
(NL) ik vond de raket van BoondoggleMan wel tof, maar ik wou het 3D hebben, dus combineerde ik het met een soort "+" steek; en knipte ik de franjes af zodat hij kon staan. Ik maakte er ook een lus aan, zodat het ook als sleutelhanger kan gebruikt worden. (de uitleg is alleen in het Engels, maar hij laat vééél foto's zien, dus als je al wat scoubidou kent, denk ik dat het genoeg is)

(ENG) guitar cell phone holder, scoubidou around metal wire. I still use it, though I have a smaller cell phone now, and the guitar looks a bit oversized ;-)
(NL) gitaar GSM houder, scoubidou rond metaaldraad. Ik gebruik het nog steeds, alhoewel ik nu een kleinere GSM heb, en de gitaar er een beetje "op de groei gekocht" uitziet ;-)

soccer fellow / voetbal ventje

(ENG) soccer fellow out of plastic yarn and the inside of an old audio casette as hear. The fellow is crocheted, his clothes are knitted, and the hair is knotted with "a kind of rug technique" (the colors are those of FC Ekeren, where my nephews played)

(NL) voetbalmannetje van plastiek wol en de band van oude geluidscasettes. Het ventje is gehaakt, zijn kleertjes zijn gebreid, en zijn haar is geknoopt. (de kleuren zijn van FC Ekeren, waar mijn neefjes speelden)

(ENG) lion from scoubidou cords, based on the tiger from http://www.yoarra.nl/tijger.php, but I made the body following the 8round knot from http://www.yoarra.nl/8vierkant.php, and of course, I added some manes.

(NL) leeuw van scoubidou koord, gebaseerd op de tijger van http://www.yoarra.nl/tijger.php, maar ik heb het lijf gemaakt met de 8rond knoop van http://www.yoarra.nl/8vierkant.php, en natuurlijk heb ik manen toegevoegd.
