Guardian Angel / Beschermengel

(ENG) tatted guardian angel from a plastic bag, for my dad who was in a coma. It sure did its job, he's now safe and sound at home :-D  

(NL) frivolité beschermengel van een plastiek zak, voor mijn vader die met een coma in het ziekenhuis lag. Het heeft zeker zijn werk gedaan, hij is nu veilig en wel thuis    :-D

Beaded Angel / Engeltje van kralen

(ENG) Angel of metalic beads, the body is made by cross woven wire, and the wings are just stringed on wire, and put in shape.  

(NL) Engeltje van metaalkleurige kralen, het lichaam is gemaakt door ijzerdraad te kruisen, en de vleugeltjes zijn simpel op die ijzerdraad geregen, en in vorm gebracht.

Beaded Candy Cane / Snoepstok van kralen

(ENG)  a simple peyote stitch spiral in white and red, filled with a pipe-cleaner, becomes a lovely xmas decoration. I think a few in a glass will become a lovely decoration too. It still is one of our favorites  :-)

(NL)  een simpele peyote spiraal in rood en wit, gevuld met chenilledraad, wordt een leuke kerstdecoratie. Ik denk dat een paar in een glas ook decoratief zullen zijn. Het is nog steeds één van onze favorieten  :-)

(ENG) birth gift for my son (1996). In Belgium it is custom to give baby visitors a little present with a kind of choclate beans with a sugar coating. Those are IN the blanket AND the cushion: it is a kind of envelop bag (Thanks mom for the sewing). The cradle is modelled out of salted dough.

(NL) suikerbonen voor mijn zoon (1996). Deze zitten IN het dekentje EN het kussentje: het is een soory enveloppe zakje (nog bedankt mams, voor al het naaien). De wieg is uit een zoutdeeg gemodelleerd.

Raybu the Rainbow Butterfly / Raybu de regenboogvlinder

   
(ENG) curtain tie back butterfly, created by me, and a pattern should follow sooner or probably later ;-) .  My brother saw me working on the yellow butterfly, he thought more colors would be better ... well, Raybu the rainbow butterfly became one of my best creations :-D 
(NL) gordijnbinder vlinder, door mij ontworpen, en een patroon zal vroeger of waarschijnlijk later moeten volgen ;-) .  Mijn broer zag me aan de gele vlinder werken, hij dacht dat er wel wat meer kleur in mocht .... wel, Raybu de regenboogvlinder werd één van mijn mooiste creaties :-D

Beaded tree / Kralenboompje

(ENG) little tree from a kind of beads on a string, leaf sequins and wire; "planted" in a mirror flower pot with clay, topped with pearly white little stones. Made about 20 years ago for my mom.

(NL) boompje van een soort kralen op een touwtje, blad paillettes en ijzerdraad; in een spiegel bloempotje met klei "geplant", met parelachtige kleine steentjes bovenop. Zo'n 20 jaar geleden gemaakt voor mams.

(ENG) made as a teenager, for mom, beads stitched with nylon wire (from a patern for filet crochet), with a little frame of toothpics (carved to fit flat), and a modified paperclip... it must be at least 20 years old ... yayks, I become less young  ;-)
(NL) gemaakt toen ik tiener was, voor mams, kralen met nylondraad genaaid (van een patroon voor filethaken), met een kadertje van tandenstokers (ingekerfd om het plat te houden), en een aangepaste paperclip ... het moet minstens 20 jaar zijn ... jakkes, ik wordt minder jong  ;-)

(ENG) Our old clock's mechanism quitted ... but, I had an old one, because I once broke a clock, and that mechanism still worked ... it didn't fitted ... so, I dug up a CD who didn't want to record, unscrewed the top, added the CD, and screwed it together again, ready ... only, my guys thought it was too small ... so, I added an old cracky record ... saved metal wraps (okay, I ate a chocolate egg to have one more, lol) ... poster buddies who don't work in bathrooms (hey, that's how that clock broke) ... SO: it's all made of stuff other - normal? - people would have thrown in the garbadge bin, hehehe :-)
(NL) Het mechanisme van onze oude klok begaf het ... maar, ik had er nog eentje, daar ik eens een klok had laten vallen, waar het mechanisme nog van werkte ... het paste niet samen ... dus zocht ik een CD op die niet wou opnemen, vijsde de wijzers er af, CD er tussen, terug in elkaar, klaar ... echter, mijn ventjes vonden het te klein ...dus, een oude krakende elpee erbij ... gespaarde zilverpapiertjes (okee, ik heb een paaseitje gegeten om er eentje meer te hebben, hahaha) ... poster buddies die niet in de badkamer werken (hee ja, zo was die klok gevallen) ... DUS: het is allemaal gemaakt van dingen die andere - normale? - mensen in de vuilbak zouden hebben gekieperd, hehehehe  :-)

scoubidou rocket / scoubidou raket

(ENG) I liked the rocket ship of BoondoggleMan, but I wanted it 3D, so I combined it with his fluted columns stitch ( a kind of "+" ); and I cutted down the tassels, so it coul stand. I added a loop, so it can be used as a key chain. 
(NL) ik vond de raket van BoondoggleMan wel tof, maar ik wou het 3D hebben, dus combineerde ik het met een soort "+" steek; en knipte ik de franjes af zodat hij kon staan. Ik maakte er ook een lus aan, zodat het ook als sleutelhanger kan gebruikt worden. (de uitleg is alleen in het Engels, maar hij laat vééél foto's zien, dus als je al wat scoubidou kent, denk ik dat het genoeg is)

(ENG) guitar cell phone holder, scoubidou around metal wire. I still use it, though I have a smaller cell phone now, and the guitar looks a bit oversized ;-)
(NL) gitaar GSM houder, scoubidou rond metaaldraad. Ik gebruik het nog steeds, alhoewel ik nu een kleinere GSM heb, en de gitaar er een beetje "op de groei gekocht" uitziet ;-)

Little Butterfly / Kleine Vlinder

(ENG) My second instructable: and adaptation of my first created butterfly, but without pipecleaner, I created these to become the curtain tie backs, but they were too little, so I created the yellow ones I posted earlier.

(ENG) bride and groom bottle cosies for the wedding of my brother Yves, crocheted out of (clean) garbage bags. Under the brides skirt (not the real one) was some money which they were only allowed to spend on pleasant things.
(NL) bruid en bruidegom flessehoes, voor het huwelijk van mijn broer Yves, gehaakt van (propere) vuilzakken. Onder de bruid haar rok (niet de echte) was wat geld, dat ze alleen voor leuke dingen mochten gebruiken.

crochet hook: 3mm (but may vary)
embroidery needle: to sew eyes and such
scissors: any, just for cutting thread
sewing pins: to position and hold the pieces in place, until they are sewn
tape measure: for measuring your door or window, and your "draft stopper tube"
balls of yarn: about 300g/10oz blue I guess (sorry, forgot to write that down)
little amounts of yarn: green (eyes), black (in eyes), pink (nose)
stuffing to fill your project
